Ways to save money on a tight budget – For years, middle-class Americans have said that it seems harder and harder to get ahead. And there’s no denying that middle-class incomes have only recently — and infrequently — increased at a decent clip. Still, there are things you can do to save more money this year .
1# Sell Your Items
The first way you can save money in 2017 is to go through all of the stuff that you don’t use and sell what you can sell. That means go on ebay and craigslist and get rid of those things that are just taking up space in your home and your life and you’re not using.
When you go shopping make a list and stick to it. Do not deviate from that list. That will ensure sure you only buy things that you actually need.
Stop using your dryer and start hang dry your laundry That will save lot of money on your electric bill.
Limit the time you spent in the shower to 5 minutes. This will not only cut down on your water bill but also on your gas or electric bill depending on what kind of water heater you have because every time you drain your water heater it needs to refill and heat all that water back up so not using much hot water will save you money.
When it’s the rainy season like we are in right now in the wintertime turn your automatic sprinklers off there are no need to water your lawn or your plants in the winter when it’s raining
Stop buying prepackaged meals That means frozen meal and things that you can just microwave throw the oven because that seriously is that a money drain.
Tip number seven is to cancel your cable subscription and just use netflix or hulu and that will save you a ton of money. most cable subscriptions cost you upwards of 200 dollars a month which is just ridiculous when you can spend $15 per month on netflix or eight dollars a month on hulu.
Switch all the light bulbs in your house to LED lights which are very high efficiency and we’ll save you money on your electricity bill.
9# Credit Cards
Tip number 9 is to stop using credit cards and buy everything with cash or your debit card so you don’t have to pay any interest on your credit card bill.
Stop spending a ton of money on activities to do on the weekend or in your spare time and try to find free activities to do. a lot of museums or local activities have free days or days that are discounted and so use those things: go to the library, the park, go on a hike. Find activities in your area.

Cancel your gym membership and workout at home. here on YouTube there are all kinds of workout videos that you can follow along with and that will save you a ton of money
12# Online Shopping
Remove your credit card numbers from your online accounts not way it takes a little bit more than just a click to make a purchase online. You have to actually go into your wallet find your credit card, enter the number and it’s much more of a hassle. You probably won’t buy as much online.
This applies if you have kids and that’s to do a babysitting trade for a date night instead of hiring a babysitter. Offer to take on somebody else’s kids so they can go on a date night and then flip flop. That way you are saving money on babysitters and you and another couple can all enjoy.
14# Meals at Work / College
Brown bag your lunch if you are going to work or school stop buying lunch while you’re out and pack your own lunch and that will save you a ton of money.
15# Cleaning Supplies
Make your own cleaning supplies. Not only will this be better for your health and the environment because you’re eliminating all those harsh chemical that will also be easier on the wallet. There are a ton of recipes that you can find here on youtube or on Pinterest, even if you just do a quick Google search you can find cleaning recipes for just about anything.
16# Second Hand Items
Stop buying new things and start by used when it is applicable Kids clothing, your clothing, cars appliances… all of those things can often be found used on craigslist, ebay and thrift stores, things like that so it’s great to check out those options before you go and buy a new item.
Number 17 might seem like a no-brainer the most of us do not follow this. And that is to drive safely. That means to go the speed limit, completely stop at stop signs, follow the law of the road and that will help you avoid getting a ticket traffic tickets can cost a ton of money and saving money on that will not only help your wallet but will also help prolong your life and those of others around you.
